I am an artist and creative learning consultant with over 25 years of experience in managing and co-ordinating large-scale arts initiatives and partnerships with a variety of communities. Before relocating to Ireland, I worked as the Arts lead for Wiltshire Youth Arts Partnership (WYAP) in the UK. This role involved researching and developing high quality transformative arts opportunities with 5-25 year olds, leading on the creative production of a varied portfolio of socially engaged arts practice.
I have extensive experience of working with diverse groups to find a voice and build resilience in their lives and their communities using varied art forms. This work has often related to wider agendas including health and wellbeing, education, heritage and regeneration. Additionally, I initiated the development of the Youth arts Charter for Wiltshire- a good practice tool created in partnership with young people, artists and educators. In Gloucestershire, I co-produced a research and development tool for artists and commissioners working in arts on prescription.
My creative practice is underpinned by the need to connect and question through storytelling, visual arts and history. I am particularly drawn to the notion of weaving stories through the visual and written world, with a focus on loss and memory and the curiosity of the mundane. To discover a sense of belonging and identity in arts and culture with a particular focus on who and what isn’t here.
